The Regulation and Administration of Overseas Manufacturers of Imported Food (“Decree 248”) which took effect on January 1, 2022, requires overseas food manufacturing, processing, and storage facilities to register with China Customs (GACC) to export food products to China. Crucial to exporters accessing China, the Decree has undergone several updates and changes over the course of the two years, and FAS has previously presented the decree’s requirements to U.S. state members and companies. A webinar in 2024 will offer the latest information on any changes and process for registration.
