Meet with potential clients in Western Canada without traveling!

PLEASE NOTE: This virtual mission is for Oregon & Washington WINE companies only!

In July 2019, during USMCA negotiations, Canada and the U.S. negotiated new options that make it easier to sell wine in retail markets.

Both imported and domestic wine could be sold in a separate liquor store inside the grocery store. With that said, there will be many opportunities for OR and WA wine makers!

In the year 2020, COVID-19 has caused market disruption as well as the geopolitical climate. However, we do see the new to export opportunities from Northwest America to Canada. Wine still remains a strong portion of the overall Agriculture retail marketplace; the growth in this segment has been significant in recent months.

Canada is still our top market for U.S. products, including specialty beverages, value-added, retail products, process and preparation foods. Retail and food-service buyers, brokers, importers are still very interested in learning about quality wine from the Western U.S. We chose the British Columbia and Alberta provinces in Canada with the largest rebound economies and imported food consumption in the Western Canada area.

This wine virtual trade opportunity helps overcome the distance with video to tell your winery, wine culture, vineyard story, virtual meetings, and finally, offering some cost relief for you to send samples to the most promising importers from your virtual meetings. The virtual activity will include one-on-one virtual meetings, wine sample tasting, and meeting with qualified liquor board/importers, agents, retailers, & distributors. Participants will be able to gain a market trend for Wine only both during and after COVID.
