The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service provides numerous resources for US exporters. FAS improves foreign market access for U.S. products by removing barriers to trade, enforcing U.S. rights under standing trade agreements, and providing assistance to U.S. suppliers.
Exporting - FAS provides a variety of resources including Market Intelligence, Export Financing, Regulations & Requirements, Trade Missions, and Trade Shows.
Overseas Offices (Posts) - This directory lists contact information for the100 FAS Agricultural Trade Office that cover approximately 180 countries across the world. These Agricultural Trade Offices write GAIN reports (see below), submit trade leads to the State Regional Trade Groups, and provide support to U.S. companies to help them successfully enter foreign markets.
Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) - GAIN reports provide intelligence on the agricultural economy in nearly 200 countries. These reports cover topics from market conditions to the agro-political dynamics in the country.
Global Agricultural Trade System (GATS) - Current and historical data on international trade in agricultural, fish, forest and textile products.
USDA Export Credit Guarantee Program - The GSM-102 program provides credit guarantees to encourage commercial financing of exports of U.S. agricultural products. Under this program, FAS guarantees payments due from foreign banks under letters of credit.
USDA Facility Guarantee Program - The Facility Guarantee Program provides guarantees to finance commercial exports of manufactured goods and U.S. services that will be used to establish or improve agriculture-related facilities in emerging countries.
The Expanding Agricultural Export Act of 2023 - Is a bicameral, bipartisan bill that would increase MAP mandatory funding and would increase Foreign Market Development Program funding.
